We're all back from Virginia & it was a whirlwind weekend! Total chaos, but you'll have that when you're traveling with a five year old, a two year old, an eleven month old, and a dog. Thankfully my brother-in-law, drove us the entire way there & back. Unfortunately, that meant I spent both ways of the 8 hour trip in the far back corner of the van.
WHERE WE WENT...
We visited my parents house, which is in Culpeper, Virginia. Culpeper is about 70 miles south of Washington D.C. - making it about an hour and a half drive into the city. On Friday, we drove to Tyson's Corner to do some shopping. The mall there has a Nordstrom, American Girl Store, Disney Store, H&M, and Zara - all stores we don't have in Rochester. So, we did lots of shopping! The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing in Culpeper.
WHAT I BOUGHT...
Well... I bought lots of things. Probably more than I should have. First up, I bought new Nikes on sale at Nordstrom. I had new sneakers on my Christmas list, but found these on sale for a great price, so I snatched them up for myself.

I also bought Ella & Livy a few things at H&M Kids. I love how fun their collection is, but cannot find anything I bought for them online to share with you! We also picked up a ton of holiday candles & wallflowers at Bath & Body Works because they were having an amazing sale. And... I did a whole lot of Christmas shopping too :)
WHAT I READ...
Since I had 16 plus hours in the car, I read two and a half books this weekend. The first was Class Mom by Laurie Gelman. I have been a long time reader of Live! with Kelly (and Regis, and Michael, and even Kathie Lee #longtimeviewer) so I was very excited to read the book that Gelman's wife wrote. I have to say that it was a slow start, but once I got into it I really enjoyed it!
The second book I read was Christmas at the Grand Hotel. When I started this book, I didn't realize that it's actually two novelas, they're short little happy romance reads, all set in the same place with the same characters. They really remind me of the Gansett Island series that I love, just a little less detailed. I'm half-way the sequel - Springtime at the Grand Hotel - right now & am enjoying that too. If you have Kindle Unlimited, these books is free & the first is definitely a happy holiday read!
WHAT I LISTENED TO...
In case you've been living under a rock, my girl Taylor Swift released her new album on Friday. I listened to it all weekend & am totally in love with it.
WHAT WE ATE...
We ate non-stop this weekend! On the way to Virginia, we had Moe's. On Friday, we stopped at Duck Donuts for some hot & fresh donuts!
WHAT I WORE...
I wore leggings all weekend long & don't feel even the tiniest bit bad about it. I was so comfy. I totally love the athleisure trend, especially when I'm chasing three kids & slinging strollers.
It was a fantastic weekend to get away & spend time with my family. I'm really looking forward to my parents arrival at the country house for Thanksgiving next week, and our trip back to Virginia for Christmas too! Now it's time to get back to report cards, progress notes, and parent conferences. One week until Thanksgiving Break!
