Bumpdate: 25 Weeks

size of the baby: rutabaga

total weight gain: 16 pounds - which is less than half of what I'd gained at this point in my last pregnancy!

gender: Baby Girl - Miss Olivia Rose

maternity clothes: Nothing new... after I did a decent amount of shopping over break, I'm setting a goal to last the rest of the pregnancy in what I have. I'm sure I'll find something I "need" here or there, but for the most part I'm going to try to remix what I already have as the weather (slowly) warms up.

movement: Miss Olivia is a mover & a shaker. I feel her move regularly throughout the day & she's starting to get a little pushy!

missing: Sugar. I'm cutting way back. I failed my one hour glucose test & just got the results of my three hour test. I don't have gestational diabetes, but I'm still going to cut WAY back on my sugar and carbs. It's a total buzzkill with all of the Easter candy in the house, but I'm committed to doing what's best for Olivia, so if that means putting away the jellybeans, I will.

craving: Sugar. See above. I think the cravings will subside after a few days though, I was just definitely overdoing it around the holiday.

exercise: Still getting my steps in every day! I will admit that I totally laid on the couch & sulked Monday night when I found out that I failed my one hour test & had to fast for 12 hours... but then I got over it & right back on the horse Tuesday! I'm in a pretty heated FitBit challenge with my family right now, so I'm really motivated!

symptoms: Heartburn & lots of it. Also, I feel large. Very large.

Ella: is just as Ella as ever. She's the best little distraction that I could ask for. She wasn't thrilled about me going back to work on Monday, but we've settled back into our routine since.

looking forward to: A relaxing weekend at home & a weather forecast that calls for highs in the 50's or above for the next ten days! I know that's really cold to some of you, but it's progress here in New York!

best moments:
  • Easter weekend was wonderful. So much family & delicious food. It makes me so happy knowing that Olivia is going to be surrounded by so much love when she arrives.
