Saturday's Shopping Extravaganza

Happy Monday everyone! I'm back to school today! Luckily, the weather is warm, I'm wearing sandals, and the kids are in a good mood. Nothing to complain about there!

Ella & I spent the weekend with my parents while Eric did the manly bonding with his BFFs. I just love going to my parents' house! We always have the best time together :) Ella just loves them too!

Ella with my Mom & Dad at the mall on Saturday
My mom & I always go shopping when I visit, but we decided to go big this trip. (It was my spring break after all.) So, we headed to Westfield Garden State Plaza, which is in Paramus, NJ. It's a two and a half hour drive, so Ella was a little cranky by the time we got there. But once we arrived, it was pure shopping heaven!

I posted our shopping lists Saturday morning, and for the most part, I was successful. I purchased a new handbag from Francessca's, a new tank from Gap, and a cami from Forever 21. The most exciting part of the day though, was when I tried on pants at Gap. I normally wear a size 4 at the Gap, I have for years, no matter how fit I've been. On Saturday, I was fitting into SIZE TWO PANTS! They're sitting on the chair next to me in the picture below. I wanted to buy them so badly, but I refrained. Stupid budget. I've never been a size 2 in my life, so this was big news. It just goes to show how much my half marathon training has transformed my body. #runnerforlife

new Gap tank top - they have it in a few different color combos - LOVE IT!
Ella was spoiled beyond belief, and accomplished all of her shopping objectives. My mother was incredibly generous & bought almost all of Ella's new things - all because she wanted me to have money to spend on myself. She's amazing. Here Ella is in her new coral jean jacket, haning out with my mom. They're too stinking cute together!

We ate lunch at the mall because my mom has an obsession with Charley's Sub Shop. I got a kids meal from there. My dad thought this was hysterical. It was for a good reason though. The mall has a 16 Handles in it! I love Fro-Yo, but we don't have anyplace to get it nearby us, so it's a special treat! I made myself a twist with rainbow sprinkles. I shared a bit with Ella too, she was very confused by it. I don't think she understood why it was so cold.

Once we finished shopping in the mall, we got back into the car & drove about half an hour back towards the outlets. It was in the mid-50's, but very windy, so we didn't stay that long. I was fine with that, as long as I got to go to J.Crew Factory - aka my favorite store ever. I was disappointed that they didn't have mint green jeans in my size, but I did snag the dress below. If you recognize it, it's probably because Laura rocked it last week & I became obsessed with it! I tried it on and love it even more now... especially because it's the right length for me! Don't be surprised if you see me in it all of the time this summer.

oh, it has pockets too!

We also hit up the Under Armour outlet, where I scored new sweats for $20 and my dad bought a golf shirt in every color imaginable. (Ok, that's an exageration, but he did go crazy.) Ella had to hit up Carter's too so she could stock up on summer essentials & new hats. It was such a successful & fun trip!

Today I'm linking up with Sami & Lisette!

  1. Love the tank top from Gap! Ella's reaction to the fro-yo is too funny. I can only imagine her expression!
